Whitnall Park 

Whitnall Park is the largest park in the county of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA. Located in the city of Hales Corners, the park was named after Charles B. Whitnall, who was an important citizen of the city and a great supporter of nature. The planning of the park began in 1924, and the majority of its construction was carried out during the Great Depression. It is also home to the Oak Leaf Trail, a lesser known white paved path trail that measures 3,583 feet in length. The loop is not for the faint of heart, but it is a fun and educational activity.

Named for Charles B. Whitnall

Charles Byrner Whitnall was a prominent Socialist politician and the first elected city treasurer of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He was also a businessman, a banker, and a landscape architect. He had a number of publications.

In the late 1890s, he was involved in the creation of the first wholesale commission flower market in Milwaukee. He was also involved in the founding of the National Association of Florists.

He is also credited with creating the ’emerald necklace’ of parkways in Milwaukee County. His accomplishments include designing the Milwaukee County Parks system and securing 84 miles of parkways. His work was unpaid, which allowed him to leave his mark on the city’s landscape.

In the early twentieth century, he advocated for the creation of an ideal parcel of land for the public. He also argued for the purchase of undeveloped lands for future parks. However, his efforts were thwarted by the growth of the county’s population. Browse around this site.

There are a number of ghostly haunts in the area, though no definitive proof has been found. There are also many reports of disembodied voices, laughter, and other paranormal activity.

There are several reported apparitions in the area, including a ghostly man, a crying grown woman, and a child who is said to be the grandson of William Karson. There is also a ghostly vehicle that rides along East Dyreson Road, and a young couple who were killed while walking along Hilbert Road in Hilbert, Wisconsin.
